Performance Timing is a race timing company based in Wausau, WI and serves the timing needs of races throughout Wisconsin and beyond. We have been in operation since 2006 and have steadily grown as word of mouth has been a primary means of marketing. We serve as a resource for both citizen events as well as high school cross-country and track meets.
We feature two primary methods of timing; a chip timing system from RFID Timing and conventional timing using Summit Timing Systems timers. Both systems provide accurate, reliable and timely results and can be configured for the specific needs of your event.
Most of the work is done by me, John Burke, in terms of setting up the software and timing configuration. I will also manage the technical aspects of the race timing on race day. I do get help from my family and I have been known on occasion to enlist the help of a friend or two for some specific functions. Depending on the timing option you choose, we may request some volunteer help that you provide at the site. The volunteer tasks are simple and non-technical in nature and most people do quite well with just a little instruction.
Another part of Performance Timing is our Track and Field operation. This is a group of individuals from the local school district who have joined forces to administer track meets for two of the local high schools using their FAT timing system. We are also providing these services to other local high schools on a case by case basis. We have been doing this since 2008 and have handled many invitational, regional and sectional competitions for high schools throughout Central Wisconsin. Our primary service is providing the timing services, but also provide meet set-up by collecting the lineups from each of the teams and setting up the meet. Meet set-up can be a stand-alone service, if desired. Contact us if you would like to find out more about these services.
